Shisha Starter Kits

What comes in a starter kit

A starter kit puts a shisha together with the things you need for your first sessions, so you don't have to work out which coals, foil or burner go with it. The contents vary from kit to kit, so compare them before you choose.

What to check in the box

  • Coals: most kits include 1kg of coconut charcoal, for example Narine 26mm cubes or Starbuzz Quad Cut.
  • A way to light them: many kits add a coal burner such as the X1, so you can light natural coals without a flame. If a kit has no burner, you will need one.
  • Foil or heat management: some kits come with pre-poked foil, and some also add a heat management device like the AMY Hot Pan.
  • Flavour: a 200g flavour is often included, for example a Savacco or OverDozz blend. Not every kit has one, so check the contents list.
  • Extras: a few kits add a spare coal tray, or a fork and pick for packing the bowl.

Choosing by size

Kits are built around shishas of very different heights, from compact models such as the 41cm C5 V2 to tall ones like the 60cm Octagon. A shorter shisha is easier to store and move about, while a taller one gives the smoke longer to cool. Pick the height that suits where you will smoke.

When you run low

Refills are sold separately: coconut coal, foil and flavours.

Questions

Do I need anything else to start?

Check the contents list. A kit with coals, a burner, foil and a flavour covers the basics for a first session. If something is missing, add it separately.

Can more than one person use the Carbine 2.0?

Yes. Swap its purge valve for a hose adapter and it becomes a 2-hose shisha.

Which coals come in a kit?

Usually natural coconut coals, which are lit on a burner rather than with a flame. The kit listing names the brand and size.
