Choosing a washable hose
Silicone can be rinsed with water after each session, so old flavours do not build up as they can in a leather or fabric hose. These are hoses only: you add your own handle and mouthpiece.
Which finish?
- Soft touch, such as the Premium High Grade Soft Touch Silicone Hose: a smooth, soft feel in the hand and a universal fit, made in a wide choice of colours. The VYRO Soft Touch hose, for example, is about 1.5m long, and its surface collects less dust.
- Matt, for example the Shishagear Silicone Hose Matt range: smooth and supple, with a surface like a striped silicone hose. A typical matt hose is 1.5m long, about 1.7cm across outside and 1.0cm inside.
- Grooved, like the Dschinni Candyhose: food-grade silicone with grooves along the surface that stop it kinking at the hose adapter.
- Leather over silicone, such as the Wookah Leather Hose: hand-sewn natural leather around a silicone tube, about 150cm long, with an 11mm inner and 19.5mm outer diameter. A hose connector is not included.
Making it fit
Most silicone hoses have a universal fit, but sizes differ slightly between brands. Hustla hoses, for instance, are about 1.1cm inside. Pair the hose with a mouthpiece you like, and see hose parts for connectors and springs. If your shisha has an unusual port, adapters and connectors can bridge the gap.
Care
Rinse silicone through with water after a session and hang it to dry. Leather hoses should not be soaked; keep water to the inner tube.

No, they are hoses only. You need your own handle and mouthpiece, and some, such as the Wookah Leather Hose, also need a hose connector.

It varies by brand. A Shishagear matt hose is about 1.0cm inside, Hustla about 1.1cm and the Wookah Leather Hose about 11mm.
