Getting to know Kaloud

Kaloud's range starts with the Lotus, a heat management device that sits over your bowl and holds the lit coals in place of foil. Around it Kaloud has built Samsaris bowls made to fit the Lotus, and the Krysalis hookahs, which come as sets with a Lotus included.

Lotus versions

• Lotus 1+: straight edges, so three standard cubes with 2.5cm sides fit without breaking them. Light the coals first: it will not work with unlit coals.
• Lotus I+3: a stainless steel base with an aluminium wall and lid. It takes up to four large cubes with the lid closed and heats up in 7 to 10 minutes.
• Lotus II and Lotus III: the Lotus II has a stainless steel body, while the Lotus III is aluminium, with built-in handles on the lid and base for adjusting heat.

Krysalis sets

Krysalis sets give you a full setup in one box. The Calix is Kaloud's portable hookah, set with a Krysalis Edition Samsaris Vitria III bowl, an adapter and the Lotus III. The Eltheria adds a Sitra Thermal Diffuser Pack, the Selestia Breathing LED Light and an Aeolis hose. Both come in finishes such as White, Black and Lucidity. Bowls for a Lotus

A Lotus needs a bowl it can sit on securely. Kaloud's Samsaris bowls, such as the Lapis and Vitria III, each name the Lotus they suit, and some other makers list it too, for example the Conceptic bowls. Check that line in a bowl's details before you buy, and find more in Kaloud bowls.

Which coals go in the Lotus 1+?

Three cubes with 2.5cm (25mm) sides, fully lit before they go in.

Can I use a Lotus with any bowl?

Not every bowl. Look for bowls that list the Kaloud Lotus as compatible, and match the Lotus version they name.

What is the difference between the Calix and Eltheria sets?

Both include a Vitria III bowl, an adapter and a Lotus III. The Eltheria set also adds a thermal diffuser pack, an LED light and an Aeolis hose, while the Calix is the portable hookah.
