About the Amotion Dot bowl

Amotion's bowl is the Dot Phunnel Bowl, and it comes in a choice of colours, for example Cobalt, Stone, Lime or Mauve. The shape and the clay stay the same from one colour to the next, so you can choose on looks alone.

The Dot is handmade in Spain from white clay and fired at 1260 degrees, which makes the clay hard-wearing. As a phunnel bowl it has a raised spout in the middle, so juice stays in the bowl instead of running down your stem.

Packing and heat

Sprinkle the tobacco loosely around the spout and keep it just below the rim, so the heat can pass through evenly. Don't press it down or let strands fall into the hole. Top it with foil or a heat management device, and give the bowl a few minutes to warm up before you judge the flavour.

Matching your Roam

The colour names follow Amotion's Roam accessories, such as the Roam Coaster and Addon Kit in Amotion spares, so you can put together a set in one colour. You can see the Roam itself on the Amotion page.

Caring for the clay

Clay holds heat for a while, so let the bowl cool before you handle or rinse it. Small differences in colour from bowl to bowl are normal for a handmade piece.

Does the colour change how the bowl smokes?

No. Each colour is the same Dot bowl, made the same way from the same clay.

How do I clean a clay bowl?

Let it cool, rinse it with warm water without soap and let it dry fully before the next session.

Does the Dot work with a heat management device?

Yes, or with foil. Sit the device on the rim and adjust the coals to control the heat.
