Choosing an Oblako bowl

Oblako is a Russian maker of clay bowls. Its bowls fall into a few families, and the right one depends on how much tobacco you like to pack and how long you want a session to last. Within each family you will often find a Killer (multi-hole) and a Phunnel version.

Unglazed Stone bowls

Bowls in the Stone finish, such as the Killer Bowl and Phunnel Bowl, are unglazed, so the tobacco burns more slowly. They are a medium size, hold 17g to 21g depending on how you pack, and Oblako say they give over an hour of smoking. They are made with dark tobacco and underpacking in mind, and come with a black silicone gasket grip and a tray.

Solo bowls

The Solo series, for example the Solo Killer and Solo Phunnel, are smaller, glazed bowls for solo sessions and compact setups. The glossy glaze is easy to clean, and they work with foil or most heat management devices. Colours vary, with finishes such as Blue or Dark Red.

The Turk

The Oblako Turk is a classic Turkish-style bowl. It holds 18g to 25g, stands 81mm tall, has a 20mm deep bowl and a 70mm outer diameter, so it suits a bigger pack.
