The Apple on Top Hookah Bowl comes with its own stainless steel coal tray built in, so bowl and tray are one unit. It is made to fit most hookahs, and the same design comes in a range of colours, such as Black, White, Red and Blue, so you can match it to your setup.

How the spire works

Instead of letting the flavour run down the stem, the bowl holds the juices in and draws the smoke through a spire in the middle. Apple on Top say this helps the pack smoke longer and cooler and stay moist.

Packing and heating

• Fluff your tobacco and drop it loosely around the spire, keeping it below the rim so it doesn't touch the tray.
• Light natural coconut coals first, then place them on the tray. Start with fewer coals and add more if the smoke is thin.
• Use tongs to move coals around the tray as the session goes on.
