PurjFam POD User Guide

How to set up, fill, adjust and clean your PurjFam POD, with PurjFam's own videos. Every POD from us comes with two grommets: the standard one and a slim one for XKAH and Quasar heads.

First session

Setting up

Take the spare parts out of the box and set them aside.
Tilt the POD onto its side, with the black part facing down, and lift the lid away.
Fill it with cold water up to the edge of the diffuser (about 150 to 250 ml).
Put the lid back on and stand the POD on the table.
Push a grommet into the top, then fit your bowl and your hose. The hose port has an M12 × 1 mm thread and takes any hose.

Water level

How much water

Fill to the edge of the diffuser and no higher. The diffuser door and the air-water separator stop water reaching the bowl or the hose when you purge.

The two grommets

Your POD comes with two grommets. Use the one that suits your bowl or head.

Standard grommet

For most bowls. It holds the bowl snugly and has a groove that catches juice before it can drip into the POD.

The POD's juice trap is sized for a funnel (phunnel) bowl, so that is the best choice. See hookah bowls.

XKAH and Quasar grommet

A slim silicone sleeve for heads with a narrow spire, such as XKAH electric heads and Quasar bowls. Push it into the bowl hole and the head sits firmly.

Other grommets also fit on top of it, so you can leave it in.

Make it yours

Draw and sound

Sound and bubble size: two diffuser plates come with the POD. The perforated plate (77 holes) is quieter, with fine bubbles and smooth filtering. The solid plate gives bigger, louder bubbles and a more direct taste.

Draw: the optional restrictor plate gives three settings, from tight to open. It fits without screws or tools.

After each session

Cleaning

Empty the water and rinse the POD after every session. There is nothing to rust, so you do not need to dry it by hand.
For a full clean, pull the outer shells off the core. The downstem and water chamber split in half, so you can reach every surface.
Rinse out the juice trap in the core and the groove in the grommet.
Use warm water and a soft sponge. Avoid harsh or abrasive cleaners.
Stack the parts to air-dry, then press them back together.
