Exploring the Starbuzz range

Starbuzz is best known for its flavours, but the brand also makes coals, foil, bowls, bases, hoses and parts for its Carbine hookah. Here is how the main lines differ, so you can find your way round quickly.

The flavour lines

• Starbuzz flavours: the core line, with classics such as Blue Mist, Pink, Pirates Cave and Code 69. It comes in a choice of pack sizes, and the smaller packs come in a tin.
• Bold: powerful flavours with extra thick clouds, for example Geisha, Irish Peach or Simply Mint. See Starbuzz Bold.
• Vintage Plus: rich, exotic blends such as Dark Mist and Dark Caribbean.
• Serpent: a dark leaf, kettle-cured tobacco cut. Starbuzz suggest it for moderate to advanced smokers. See Starbuzz Serpent.
• Steam Stones: a nicotine-free alternative to tobacco, sold in 125g packs and packed and heated in the usual way. See Steam Stones.

Hardware and essentials

• Bases: glass vases made to match Starbuzz USA stems that also fit most traditionally made stems, such as the painted Premium Base or the heavy, thick-walled Tsunami.
• Bowls and heat: the silicone Paradigm Bowl works like a phunnel, and the NAR Heat Management Head has a built-in thermometer.
• Coals and foil: Quad Cut coconut coals are quarter-circles that suit heat management devices, and there are instant light discs and pre-poked round foil too.
• Hoses and spares: the washable Maximus hose fits a traditional female hose port, and Carbine owners will find tongs and replacement glass.

What is the difference between Starbuzz and Starbuzz Bold?

Bold is a separate line known for powerful flavours and extra thick clouds. The core Starbuzz line includes classics such as Blue Mist and Pink.

Will a Starbuzz base fit my shisha?

Starbuzz bases are made to match Starbuzz USA stems and fit most traditionally made stems. The Premium Base, for example, has a 48mm opening, so compare that with your stem.

Is Serpent good for beginners?

Starbuzz suggest Serpent, a dark leaf tobacco, for moderate to advanced smokers. If you are new, the core or Bold lines are an easier start.
