The XKAH Pro and the XKAH Lite do the same job: they sit on top of a hookah you already own, in place of the charcoal, and heat the tobacco electrically. Nothing to light, no coals to turn, no ash. The difference between them comes down to one question: do you want it on a battery or plugged in?
This guide goes through what the two heads share, where they differ and which one suits you. For every number side by side, open the XKAH Pro vs XKAH Lite vs Shii comparison.
Both are electronic heat management heads made by XKAH. The bowl is the same part on both: a small stainless steel bowl that takes 8 to 12 g of tobacco, about half of what a charcoal bowl uses, and works with any brand of shisha tobacco, light or dark. The replacement bowl 2-pack fits either head.
Both have a classic auto mode, where you press once and the head looks after the heat, and a custom mode, where you set the heat yourself. Both sit on your hookah's bowl port with a silicone seal: the Pro comes with S and L grommets, the Lite with two silicone adapters. Both come with tongs and a fork poker, and both are cleaned the same way: the top cap and seals come off, and the bowls can go in the dishwasher.
The Pro runs from a swappable 13,600 mAh battery that charges over USB-C and lasts up to two hours; a session runs 50 minutes in Classic mode or up to 90 minutes in Custom, and a spare battery swaps in to carry on. The Lite has no battery at all: it plugs into the mains through a 2.5 m cable with a magnetic plug and runs for as long as you like, in 50-minute sessions with a beep three minutes before each one ends.
Battery power is what makes the Pro the one for the garden, the balcony, a friend's house or a trip: it comes with a travel bag for exactly that. The Lite is tied to a socket, so it suits a fixed spot at home where the cable can run safely to the hookah.
The Pro has an LED display with light indicators for the end of a session and a low battery, and three modes: Classic, Custom (heat from 220°C to 305°C and session time) and Non-Tobacco. The Lite is simpler: one dial sets the heat from 260°C to 310°C in Custom mode, with a light ring showing the level, and a single press starts Classic mode. The Lite's Trio-Heat heating combines conduction, convection and radiant heat to hold a steady temperature.
The Lite is the lighter head at about 532 g against about 680 g for the Pro, because it carries no battery.
The Lite is the cheaper way into electric heat: £249.99 against from £284.99 for the Pro. The Pro also comes in more colours: Black, Silver, Blue, Pink and a limited 24K Gold edition, against Graphite, Red and Blue for the Lite.

Almost certainly. Both come with silicone seals in two sizes that sit on a standard bowl port. The XKAH grommet set is available as a spare.
No. Both heads use their own stainless steel bowl, which is part of how they control the heat. Two come in the box and a 2-pack lets you keep a second flavour ready.
Yes. Electric heads still get hot in use. Follow the maker's instructions, let them cool before packing them away and keep them out of reach of children. 18+ only.
