Fitting an Aeon base

Before you think about colour, check how the base joins your stem. Aeon bases come in two fittings. A threaded base screws onto the stem. A plug-in base has an open neck that the stem slides into.

Threaded bases

Aeon's Edition 4 bases are threaded and come in many finishes, for example Clear, Lava, Panda, Jungle and Blizzard. Aeon shishas are produced in Germany under ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification, and every thread is checked for accuracy of fit. The Intenso bases, such as Frozen Edge, are also threaded. They are handmade in Germany and look different from the regular finishes.

Plug-in bases

The Aeon Hookah Base in Centenary Grey is an example of the plug-in type, handmade from Bohemian crystal glass. Its neck has a 45mm inner diameter, which suits all common plug-in hookahs. To use it with the VYRO x Moze Noir or VYRO Edition 4, you need the plug-in base adapter, which you will find in Aeon spares.

Handmade glass varies slightly from one piece to the next, which is normal. The hookahs and the rest of the brand are under Aeon, and bases from other makers are in shisha bases.

Questions

How do I know whether I need a threaded or plug-in base?

Look at where your stem meets the base. If it screws in, choose a threaded base; if the stem simply slides into the neck, choose a plug-in base.

Does the Centenary Grey base fit my VYRO Edition 4?

Yes, when you use it with the plug-in base adapter.

Will a plug-in Aeon base fit a non-Aeon hookah?

The Centenary Grey has a 45mm neck, which suits all the common plug-in hookahs.
